In our current History unit, Buttercup and Cowslip have been exploring toys from the past.  This afternoon we were lucky enough to have a visit from staff at Newton Abbot Museum, who brought a range of artefacts to school for us to handle. The children were surprised by the age of the toys and were even more surprised that some of the toys we still have today. The children enjoyed challenging themselves with a cup and ball, handling a weaving loom and pushing a pram. After handling most of the artefacts, the children compared them to toys we have today, we discovered a lot of our toys today are made from plastic!

We are very grateful to Kate and Wendy for taking the time to explain each item and how it was used.
