We couldn't believe our eyes when an eagle flew into our class this morning! The eagle flew straight into Mrs Breslan-Smith and was carrying a scroll. We quickly opened the scroll to find a clue! We noticed that some of the words were red 'tricky' words and learned that these words can not be sounded out. The children then used their phonic knowledge to help read the message that said, 'Go to the mat and pick it up'. Upon lifting up the mat, we found a map of Africa with Kenya highlighted and a present! When we opened the present, we were very excited to find a story inside called, Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain. We read the story straight away and are now looking forward to learning more about Kenya and how it differs from England.
