This half term Open the book performed the story of David and Goliath.  David was a shepherd boy and Goliath a fearsome warrior.  In this story we learned that the Israelites and the Philistines were at war and the Philistine army had a giant of a champion in Goliath. No-one had ever been brave enough to challenge Goliath, until David came along with his sling and five small stones. David said that he did not need armour and that with God's help he could defeat Goliath - which he does, with a single stone from his sling.  This story helped us to understand how courageous David was and times when we have needed to show such strength.
