This term in Reception, we have been comparing our culture to Asian culture. We have explored traditional tales, celebrations such as the Chinese New Year and different artists. The artist we have focused on is 'Yayoi Kusama', we shared her story and researched her art work. We loved learning about her interactive exhibition at Tate Modern and wanted to create our own pieces.
We were inspired by her dot work and loved experimenting with print, shapes and colours when creating. Across the two classes, we have especially enjoyed her 'performance' art, which is largely shown through clothing. Over the last week, we have designed our own 'performance' art and spent time painting our t-shirts with fabric paint.
Once we were happy with our look, we were able to parade our art work to Buttercup and Primrose!
