Smasc now runs as part of the United Schools Trust. The group has access to school toilets and two large enclosed playgrounds and grassed outdoor areas. It also has the benefit of the school orchard and wildlife garden. The club provides activities for breakfast and after school for children who attend St Michael’s School and Kingsteignton School. The holiday club is open to families in the surrounding areas. The club are registered to care for a maximum of 30 children at any one time from primary school age up until the age of 11 years.
Breakfast club 8.00-8.50am (when the bell rings) £2.20
During breakfast club we offer a variety of cereals, toast and fruit, with milk, water and juice. Not all children choose to have breakfast with us as it suits their morning routine to have it at home before they arrive. We have a variety of resources available from board games, books and puzzles, to skittles, hoops and balls. We escort the younger children to their classes whilst the older children make their own way to their classrooms when the bell rings.
After School Club 3.15-6.00pm £5.50
After school we collect the younger children from their classrooms, whilst the older ones make their own way to the club. We offer similar activities as breakfast club as well as having use of the computer room and the outside areas. We have an adult led child initiated activity offered each evening however it is the choice of the child if they decide to take part or not. We have a snack after school and another around 5.00pm, this usually is fruit or a biscuit. Water is available for the children to help themselves to all evening. Children can be picked up any time before 6.00pm.
Holiday Club 8.30am-6.00pm (St Michael’s term dates) £16.00
Holiday club tends to be run from Aspen class, this can be subject to change if the room is being worked in. During the holidays we tend to run with a theme for each week and base a variety of activities around each theme. Plans of the activities are usually available before the start of the holiday.
All holidays have to be paid for in advance to secure the places. We take any child that is primary school aged, typically we have children from the Teignbridge and Torbay areas.
